Typical conversation:
“Hello, how are you?”
“Good, busy.”
How many times have we all heard this common response or even given the response ourselves? It’s overused, overdone, and unfortunately completely accurate for many. We are constantly bombarded with noise, distractions, competing priorities, too many demands, and for many of us; the desire to do it all perfectly. Many of us struggle to step off the treadmill and hit the reset button. Day after day, the cycle repeats itself and causes stress, fatigue, and ultimately burnout. How to stop the madness? There are several solutions including, intentional focus, effective prioritization, and an improved mindset.
Exercise + Meditation + Sleep = Improved Mindset
For many the trifecta of an improved mindset includes exercise, meditation, and sleep. I know that when I have all three of these in a day, I am at my best. Exercising for at least 30 minutes per day is an excellent way to boost endorphins and help your mind operate at optimal levels. If you have the opportunity to exercise outdoors—all the better to combine nature with movement. Meditating for as little as 10 minutes per day produces brain changes that can help with managing stress and improved decision making. Many find that the most impactful of the trifecta is sleep. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night is considered optimal for most adults.
Apply the trifecta to your busy life and see what it does for you. It just might make you a lot more productive, happy, and a lot less boring.
